Kadhalil Vizhunthen (Tamil: காதலில் விழுந்தேன், English: I Fell in Love) is a movie starring Nakul and Sunaina. The movie's music was composed by Vijay Antony, cinematography by S D Vijay Milton and editing by V.T Vijayan. The movie was produced by Umapathy for Atlantic Cinemas. The shooting for the film started in August 2007 and the movie was released in September 2008.
The film was distributed by Kalanithi Maran, the managing director of Sun Networks and the son of politician (late) Murasoli Maran and released on September 2008. The song Nakka Mukka, a kuthu (folk) song and Thozhiya.., a melodious romantic song were very successful hits composed by young music director Vijay Antony and was one of the main reasons of the film's success. The song Nakka Mukka was also played in the opening ceremony of the Cricket World Cup 2011 held at Mirpur, Bangladesh and also in the inagural of the Indian Primier League (IPL) 2011 held at Chennai, India.
These sensational music scores by Vijay Antony also made him popular. The use of Rihanna's Unfaithful with Tamil lyrics as "Unakkena Naan Yenakkena Nee" displeased many of the film's audience.
The story focuses on the life of Sebastian (Nakul). He is the football crazy son of an alcoholic and lives in the slums. However, he lives a comfortable life and plays football with his mates as he completes his college career. He meets Sunaina after an accident and later develops a liking for her. He slowly starts to love her but is afraid to express his love since she is rich and would react hastily. However, he later does confirm his love to her and she accepts. When Nakul leaves for a football match with his college, he promises that he will propose to her as soon as he gets back. Nakul returns from his match to only find out that Sunaina has died. Nakul is shocked and he slips into a psychotic depression, travelling around with Sunaina's dead body, still believing she is alive. To make matters even worse, the police are also after him. The film ends as he commits suicide after he kills Sunaina's uncle, who murdered Sunaina in the first place in order to gain her wealth.
The song nakka mukka became very popular and attracted the youth. Vijay Antony went to make more successful albums in the following films Ninaithale Inikkum and Vettaikaran. Nakul went on to do two more films Masilamani and Kandhakottai.
